Can't Fly Kites Every Week

July is a West Coast Month. For the next three weeks, we’re scheduled in three different festivals in three different states. We’ll be in Westport, Washington; Brookings, Oregon; and Berkeley California.

But for the past ten days we’ve been home enjoying glorious weather at the beach.

I was hard pressed this Monday to think of something to write for the Update. There was the big repair I worked on over the weekend. Did you want details on how to stitch up 12 feet of rips?

There were stories and photos of kite friends having fun.

And there were the people who phoned at 5 in the morning or 10 at night. I could tell you all about them…

But instead, I thought you all might want to know that we are real people and have real weekend projects. We just don’t have a lot of weekends to do them on.

Our five acres in the woods requires a lot of maintenance. And with our place scheduled to be included on a public garden tour next June, I’m working to polish off a few projects. So I spent the weekend setting paving stones instead of flying kites.

There is always next weekend. And the weekend after that. And the weekend after that too.

See you out there!

100 Foot Ribbons:

Leave a trail in the sky! Our 100 foot rainbow ribbons are made from tough nylon sailcloth and will add excitement to any kite. Use them to accent a traditional kite or for “skywriting” with maneuverable kites.

We now carry Rainbow, Patriot (red/white/blue), Warm (red/orange/yellow), Cool (blue/green/purple), Phoenix (red/black/yellow), and Miami (blue/black/purple). Take your pick for $25 each. And between now and the 20th, take off 20% when you mention the Update Special.
